Toxic Heavy Metals & Risks for Cancer

Presenters: David Zava, PhD, and Theodore Zava

This 1-hour educational lecture will focus on cadmium and its relationship to breast cancer. Studies on the molecular mechanisms of cadmium suggest its cancer-inducing effects on reproductive tissues like the breasts and uterus are related to its unique actions as an estrogen mimic, or metalloestrogen.

The webinar also addresses:

  • Diseases/conditions associated with exposure to high cadmium levels
  • Why cadmium is considered a metalloestrogen, and its link to breast cancer risk
  • Other essential minerals that help lower bioaccumulation of cadmium and other toxic heavy metals
