Dr. Jack Monaco discusses the benefits of using saliva testing to properly restore hormones. He addresses how saliva testing can identify specific hormonal imbalances, which can eliminate the need for physician guesswork when prescribing. He uses baseline levels of salivary hormones and knows physiologic doses to initiate treatment. Follow-up testing will show response to hormone dosing and provide the ability to assess each patient's unique needs and make dose adjustments to achieve optimal levels. He also offers some tips about Bioidentical Hormone Restoration Therapy for clinicians. Dr. Monaco will present case studies, including a very unusual case of a 22-year-old woman who is menopausal by all parameters measured. Her recent salivary specimen was reanalyzed by ZRT that utilized a different technique, revealing clues about her hormones. He will also review the hormonal changes that typically occur during the transition from perimenopause to menopause.
